Koenigsegg Agera
"Agera, the Swedish verb “to act”, has been chosen as the name for Koenigsegg´s latest super creation, as it symbolizes the Koenigsegg philosophy well. Koenigsegg is always striving forward, seeking challenges beyond limitations. The new supercar Agera is an outcome of that creative process and its functions respond very well to the given name." -luxuryautodirect.com

Koenigsegg's New Baby
Swedish supercar marque Koenigsegg and NLV Solar AG, a pioneer in photovoltaics and accumulator technology, have joined forces to create the Quant. The brainchild of this marriage of power and energy is a four-seater solar electric car. A full-scale model is to be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Salon, with the two companies currently working on running prototypes to scale up for series production.

The Koenigsegg's Engine
The Koenigsegg CCX is powered by a hand built, Koenigsegg designed, twin supercharged, all aluminum and carbon fiber, eight cylinder engine.
Its pure racing performance power and torque have been achieved whilst maintaining the low weight and superb drivability of the car. The CCXR version is the most powerful production engine in the world and only weighs 198 kg.
It is a state-of-the-art DOHC semi-stressed V8 construction with a 4.7 litre displacement and 32 valves, with drysump lubrication. The CCX is boosted to its extreme power output by a unique Bi-compressor Supercharging system, which employs twin centrifugal compressors to enable a 1.6 bar maximum boost pressure at 7000 RPM. This system significantly increases power and torque across a broad rev band, and it also includes the revolutionary Koenigsegg RBC-System (Response Boost Control) (patented), which takes out on-off throttling lag time.
Koenigsegg also has developed its own proprietary Catalytic converter systems, which enables the cars to met even the stringent California emission regulations. The Catalytic converter sits very close to engine, for early light of and has a special blend of precious metals and cell structure that reduces back pressure while maintaining full catalytic effect over a long period of time. This technological feat cannot be overstated; no competitor has come close of creating an engine configuration with a power output of as much as 1018 Hp, yet still keep exhaust gas emissions below certifiable levels.
